In Controguerra, the Month of the Dead is solemnized with the masses of 1 November (All Saints) and the following day, in which all the faithful departed are commemorated (Commemoratio Omnium Fidelium Defunctorum). On this occasion, masses are celebrated both in the church and in the municipal cemetery, to remember and honor the dearly departed. In the past, a particular procession was also held on All Saints' Day, in which the faithful held lighted candles in their hands.
Also in November, the first Sunday following the 4th of the month (if it does not fall on the same day) a mass is celebrated in the Campo dei Caduti, in the open space in front of the monument to the fallen of all wars. It is a deeply felt anniversary, which commemorates the fallen of the two world wars. The religious function is preceded by a small procession that moves from Piazza del Commercio. The civil authorities – once the veterans – bring a wreath to the Campo, which is placed at the base of the monument, after which the religious function begins. After the mass, the reading of the Bulletin of Victory follows.
On November 7, 2021, after the celebrations, honorary citizenship of the Municipality of Controguerra was granted to the Unknown Soldier.
