The tradition of the foundation of the Cona church

Don Alfonso Panichi reports a legend he collected on the building of the Cona church. Legend has it that one day two wealthy young men from Controguerra were walking along what is now Via Guglielmo Marconi to go hunting in the woods towards the Piana del Tronto - therefore, presumably, they were heading towards the Riparossa forest - and one of the two would have expressed a foul language. Pronounced those words, the young people heard the voice of the Madonna who reproached them: at the point where the fact occurred, the two decided to have the church erected.
