One day some boys heard some elders tell them that if they put a gallows under their throats on full moon nights they could see the witches jumble. In particular, the story of the elders continued, the witches would have been spotted at the intersection of three streets near the Palazzo Scolastico. Some local boys, in the late forties, would have tried to see the witches by spending almost an hour with a gallows under their throat near the crossroads, but they waited in vain and left disappointed. Another place considered "good" to spot witches was the first oak tree that you still come across today along the S.P. 2, in the direction of Nereto-Ancarano, on the left side of the roadway, before the Colle Fruscione cemetery.
