The feast of San Benedetto Abate, patron of Controguerra (March 21)

On the anniversary of the patron saint, March 21, a solemn mass and a procession were celebrated in Controguerra with the statue of San Benedetto Abate. The town was celebrating and a large fair was being held. To beautify the streets and squares of the village, the boys made paper festoons, the donuts. Today the celebrations are less than in the past, but it is still a very heartfelt day of celebration.
