The Feast of Madonna delle Grazie (July 2)

A deeply felt festival in Controguerra is the one celebrated every 2 July in honor of the Madonna delle Grazie. During the day, religious celebrations are accompanied by civil ones, in a general festive atmosphere.

In the evening the solemn procession takes place, which crosses the main streets of the town. A custom belonging to the most ancient tradition but which has come down to the present day is the custom of displaying Marian banners or good blankets in the windows, on the occasion of the passage of the effigy of the Madonna, carried in procession through the streets of the town and accompanied by songs and litanies.
