The effigy of the Virgin with Child coming from the sea

Alfonso Panichi has collected a legend relating to the sacred effigy of the Virgin with Child, which is still preserved today in a niche set in the high altar of the church dedicated to it. The elderly people interviewed by the priest, presumably around the 1970s, attributed the effigy to San Luca and claimed that the statue came "from the sea".
