The Marian Month (May)

During the month of May various celebrations of a religious nature are held in honor of the Madonna, much venerated in Controguerra. In the past, religious celebrations were accompanied by other properly civil ones, such as the shot, i.e. the fireworks display, which concluded the Marian month together with an open-air mass, followed by a village festival.
In the past it was also customary to bring the wooden copy of the statue of the Madonna delle Grazie to the districts and in the evening a mass was celebrated, where the sacred effigy rested.
