He was born in Controguerra on 15 October 1890. He studied administrative law and in 1912 he won the competition for Municipal Secretary at the Prefecture. Chief Secretary in 1915 at the Municipality of Chiaramonti in Sardinia, he volunteered at the outbreak of the Great War. He distinguished himself in various heroic actions at the front and was appointed foreman of one of the first "pistols - machine guns" departments (which were the first special forces of the Italian army). He died in combat on August 19, 1917 in Pod-Koriti, after inciting , with his last breath, the soldiers of his team to fight. Already highly decorated, with Royal Decree of 10 August 1923 his Silver Medal was switched to a Gold Medal of Military Valour.
